Freeview Focus on... Miss London

26 May 2011

Miss London is a presenter and comedienne from London. She's won a  Funny Woman of the Year Award and gets up every weekday morning to entertain a whole nation of kids on CBBC. Freeview caught up with Miss London for a quick TV talk.

1. Tell us about CBBC Mornings.

I present live, to kids all around the country, from 8am-10am every day during the holidays and every weekend when the kids are back at school. It’s crazy live TV at its best! In between the CBBC shows we do sketches, games and host competitions plus we have two talking dog puppets called Hacker and Dodge! It’s must see TV for kids.

2. You've appeared in The Stephen K Amos show, won a Funny Woman Award and possess the power to entertain a nation of kids on a daily basis - what is the standout moment of your career so far?

It would have to be appearing on The Stephen K Amos Show - he's a comedian that I've admired and looked up to. He was also one of the judges on the panel when I won Funny Women of the Year and he said to me: "I'm gonna work with u one day missy". And who knew he'd be true to his word?!

3. What is your 'Top TV' moment from the past year?

It has to be the Royal Wedding. It was so lovely. My whole family had a big party with food and let's just say there was plenty of champagne.

4. What television series, old or new, do you think of as 'Unmissable TV' and why?

The new series of 90210 on E4 is epic! I never ever, ever miss an episode and I've got series one and two on DVD, I'm totally hooked!

5. Tell us what shows you are watching or recording at the moment?

90210 on E4, Family Guy on BBC Three, I also watch myself on CBBC but don't judge me! My Freeview box is pretty much stuck on those three channels so I rarely use my remote!

6. Which actor or actress would you most like to work with and why?

I'd love to work with Whoopi Goldberg as she's one of my idols. I absolutely love her... even if she doesn't have any eyebrows!

7. Tell us your guilty TV pleasure?

The Only way is Essex, I absolutely LOVE Joey Essex! I've started saying "Reem" and I'm even planning a girl’s night out to the Sugarhut in Brentwood,

8. Who was your childhood TV hero and why?

Will Smith - I used to love watching him in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, not only did I have the biggest crush on him; I actually wanted to be him. It was a very weird obsession.

9. When was the last time TV made you cry?

Last week’s episode of 90210 when Annie found out Marla had committed suicide. I wept like a baby.

10. Now Freeview HD is available, which part of your body would you least likely to see in high definition?

Definitely my knees - I've never quite liked them. If I could give them a knee makeover, I would. People always say I've got great legs and I always say "No way! Have you seen my knees?! They're offensive to the eyes!"

You can catch Miss London on CBBC from 8am each weekday throughout June, Freeview channel 70.
