    More info

Hard drives are built into the Freeview recorder so you don't need a tape or disc to record a program.

How it works- when programmes are recorded they are written onto a hard disk inside the Freeview recorder. If you want to watch the program later on, the hard drive simply reads the program back and plays it on your TV. If you set your Freeview + recorder to record a program, the timer automatically switches the tuner to the right channel and turns on the hard drive when the program comes on.

Good Points
Only used basic functions so far but easy to set to record a program and has recorded everything I set it to.
Easy to play a recording. Haven't tried anything too advanced yet, such as catch-up viewing or recoding two programs at same time.
Bad Points
Manual not easy to follow.
Some options not clearly explained.

Good Points
Easy to record and play back programmes. Convenient to be able to pause realtime TV and carry on after the interruption. There are plenty of features we haven't even looked at because our main requirement was to be able to record programmes. Some reviews say how loud the fan is, but I can't say we've ever noticed it.
Bad Points
The only bad point relates to a serious remote control malfunction we had in December. I assumed our recorder had died and so we bought this model as a replacement. I've since found out that it was a widespread software problem which could have been resolved by the installation of a download. However, no-one contacted us.
