BBC Alba to be broadcast on Freeview in Scotland & subsequent loss of radio stations
Gaelic television service BBC Alba will start to broadcast on Freeview for the first time from 5pm on 8 June 2011.
The channel will appear on Freeview channel 8 in Scotland. Viewers in this area may need to perform a retune to receive the channel.
Due to a lack of bandwidth, a number of BBC radio stations will go off air on Freeview when BBC Alba is broadcasting.Radio 1 Extra, 5 Live and 6 Music will not be affected.
