Border

The first region to switchover to digital TV will be the Border TV region starting in 2008 and continuing into the first half of 2009. At this point almost the whole region will be able to receive Freeview.

To highlight the need to update recoding equipement Freeview held a VCR amnesty and Freeview lounge tour.

Digital UK will providing more information in your region before the signal switches to digital to keep you updated. Here's the timetable they've given us of when your local TV transmitter will switch to digital.

November 2008

Selkirk Transmitter

Serving the Scottish Borders

The Selkirk transmitter and its 11 relays, serving Scottish Borders began switchover on 6 November 2008 and the process will be complete on 20 November 2008.

April to June 2009

Caldbeck Transmitter

Serving Cumbria & Dumfries & Galloway

The Caldbeck transmitter and its 38 relays, serving Cumbria and South West Scotland switches between April and June 2009.

Douglas Transmitter

Serving the Isle of Man

The Douglas transmitter area and its 9 relays, serving the Isle of Man switches between April and June 2009.

Kendal Transmitter

Serving the Lake District

The Kendal transmitter area and its 8 relays, serving the south lakes switches between April and June 2009.
