Using Freeview+

VISION:
We find Ryan in his lounge, sat in a smock at a potter’s wheel. He grabs a lump of clay and plonks it clumsily on the wheel. He starts cranking the wheel up when suddenly…Ryan looks up hearing a voice
Ryan wipes his hands on a cloth, stands up, takes off his apron and goes over to the sofa and picks up the Freeview remote.

Cut to TV screen and view of EPG.
Ryan follows instructions and selects a movie: (‘Ghost’)
Presses ‘OK’ on his remote control and ‘OK’ again to confirm recording of film.
EPG shows ‘Ghost’ is recording
Ryan looks thoughtfully for a moment, thinks ‘that was easy’ and then nods confirmation.
Ryan follows instructions. Scrolls up to BBC One, highlights ‘Antiques Roadshow’ and presses ‘OK’ on his remote control. Ryan is then offered a confirmation to record the series and presses ‘OK’ to confirm.
Message on screen confirms the series has recorded.
We see Ryan’s library of recorded programmes
TV comes out of programme guide and returns to football coverage
Ryan reacts to the phone ringing
Ryan presses the pause button on his remote and get up, goes over to the phone and picks up the phone.
Ryan sighs, puts the phone down and wearily goes back to the sofa and we see the TV in live pause.
Ryan presses play on the remote and coverage of the football resumes.
Ryan rewinds to watch a key part of play again
Ryan sinks back into his sofa.

Ok, in your Freeview + Digital TV Recorder, there’s a bevy of treats for you to enjoy. Now Lets start with recording a programme. Go into your TV guide and use the arrow key to advance through the programming schedule to whatever you’d like to record. Select the programme, or movie AND THAT’S IT! ALL Freeview recorders have a 7-day programme guide, so you can set to record well in advance of the programme being on. And some Freeview recorders will let you watch a different programme to the one you are recording.
WONDERFUL WOULD YOU NOT AGREE? NOW, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECORD AN ENTIRE SERIES?
NOW THIS IS ALMOST AS SIMPLE. Again, go to your TV guide and use the arrow key to find the programme you’d like to record. If it’s a series, you’ll be given an option to record the WHOLE SERIES. Select, and BOB’S YOUR UNCLE! Most machines have around 100 hours of programme storage – WHICH SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR ANYONE!
Now Ryan. Come out of the television guide for a moment and, ahh…
(OOS telephone rings)
OK! DON’T FEAR. PRESS THE PAUSE BUTTON ON YOUR FREEVIEW REMOTE CONTROL!
Brian:
(on telephone, cutting Ryan off) TIS ONLY ME! HA HA HA!!
(back in the room) OH DEAR, FORGIVE ME AND MY JUVENILE JAPES… BUT WHAT BETTER WAY TO ILLUSTRATE – If your viewing is interrupted for WHATEVER reason, then pausing live television means you never have to miss the action. When you want to resume simply press play AND AWAY YOU GO!
And if you miss something the first time round, then rewind - AND WATCH AGAIN!

A Freeview+ digital TV recorder makes it easy to record digital TV. You get all the Freeview TV channels and radio stations available to you and you can record your favourite programmes onto a hard drive or DVD.

To record

From your onscreen TV Guide use the arrow keys to highlight what you’d like to record. Select it and you will be given options to record the programme or even the whole series. All Freeview+ recorders have a seven-day programme guide so you can choose what to record well in advance.

To pause

To pause live TV all you do is press the Pause button on the Freeview+ remote control. Then press Play to resume watching.

To rewind

If you miss something when you’re watching live TV just press rewind and you can watch it again. (This only works on the channel you are watching.)
