The harbour town of Whitehaven will embark on the transition from analogue to digital on 17 October which will be a landmark moment in TV history. 

To mark the dawn of a new digital TV era, Freeview has brought together some of the industry's thought leaders including Michael Grade (ITV), Jane Lighting (five) and Kevin Bakhurst (BBC News 24) to offer their views on digital switchover and the impact it will have on TV viewing in the UK.
