Quest HD Joins the Freeview Family

From today, a new channel joins Freeview, the nation’s largest TV platform. Quest HD is launching on Freeview channel 114, complementing the two existing Quest offerings: Quest TV and Quest Red.

Quest is already popular among Freeview viewers, who like its mix of factual entertainment series and documentaries. With the launch of Quest HD, there’s also a great line-up of sports to look forward to, including the final of footie’s Checkatrade Trophy, as well as the British Superbike Championship and snooker’s Home Nations Series.

Here’s just a few of the highlights on Quest HD in the coming week.

EFL on Quest
Saturday 18 August at 9pm

Quest HD’s sports coverage is first class, and on Saturday nights you can catch up with all the action in the English Football League. This week, Colin Murray introduces a round-up of goals and highlights from Bristol City v Middlesbrough, and Sheffield United v Norwich City. And every goal will be a high definition goal!

David Baddiel on the Silk Road
Tuesday 14 August at 7pm

Comedian and writer David Baddiel sets out on an 8000-mile journey, following the most famous trading route in history. Tonight, he begins his odyssey in Xi’an, where he learns the secret of silk and discovers that (along with fireworks, paper and probably everything else), the Chinese invented football. Three dragons on his shirt?



Salvage Hunters
Wednesday 15 August at 8pm

Modern day treasure hunter Drew Pritchard is on the hunt for weird and wonderful objects. Tonight, he heads to a flea market in Belgium, where he meets a renowned dealer who lives in a huge chateau (as you do).



Carabao Cup on Quest
Wednesday 15 August at 10:30pm

Quest HD’s sports coverage is first class, and that includes tonight’s highlights from the first round of the Carabao Cup. Fixtures include West Bromwich Albion v Luton Town, Yeovil Town v Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest v Bury.



Heavy Rescue
Friday 17 August at 9pm

They say Canadians are so nice that they’ll even say thank you to their bank machines. And the Heavy Rescue guys and girls aren’t just nice, they’re brave too, facing daily dangers while keeping busy highways open. Tonight, they have to deal with a lorry load of lumber that’s rolled onto the highway, backing up traffic all the way to Quebec.

Sunday 19 August at 11pm

Mighty Ships

Monday 20 August at 7pm

This documentary series explores the world’s most impressive operational ships. Tonight, it’s all aboard the Yasin Bey, a ship and a power plant all in one. It takes a four-week voyage from Turkey to Indonesia to deliver badly-needed electricity.
