Freeview Play recorders from Panasonic – software download now available

Posted December 1, 2015 - Service Updates

A software download is now available to enable Freeview Play (FVP) functionality on the following Panasonic recorders:

Panasonic BWT850 (FVP Blu-ray recorder)
Panasonic PWT655 (FVP recorder with Blu-ray & DVD playback – exclusively from Currys/PCWorld)
Panasonic PWT550 (FVP recorder with Blu-ray & DVD playback)
Panasonic HWT250 (FVP recorder)
Panasonic HWT150 (FVP recorder)

This download will enable BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and All 4 to be accessed from the FVP apps page and in the backwards.  Demand 5 is not currently available but a further download is planned to address this later in December.

To download: when recorder is switched on and connected to the internet, you will get the following message:

New software version has been found.  The software will be updated automatically after this unit is switched to standby. Do not disconnect the AC mains lead.

If recorder is already on when download becomes available, it will start automatically when you switch off and go into stand-by mode.

A confirmation message will then be shown on screen  next time you turn the recorder on:

Software successfully updated.  Current version: 1.05
