High pressure weather system may cause picture interference

Posted June 6, 2016 - Service Updates

TV signals can be affected by atmospheric conditions, including high air pressure (which brings fine weather), heavy rain or snow. On Freeview, this may result in temporary picture break up (pixelation) or you might receive signals from outside of your area –  even other countries.

In the week commencing 6 June there have been problems experienced if you live in Northern Ireland, Wales, central and southern England and west coast of Scotland.

If your TV signal appears to be affected by high atmospheric pressure conditions, please do not retune your equipment the picture will return when the weather passes.
