New software for Freeview Play Panasonic TVs

Posted December 1, 2015 - Service Updates

New software is available to download for the Freeview Play Panasonic TV range:

TX-50CX802B
TX-50CX700B
TX-40CX680B
TX-65CR730B
TX-55CR852B

(plus all screen size variants)

The latest release offers improved performance when using Freeview Play catch up and on demand functions.

To download you will need to access the Panasonic apps page via the apps button on your remote (or press the Netflix button) whilst connected to the internet.  The download is not available from the Freeview Play apps page.

A pop-up message will appear highlighting the availability of a new version of software stating:

‘Found new software via network.  Press OK to start update. Press EXIT to ignore.’

The download can take up to 3 minutes – do not turn off your TV whilst the download and installation is in progress.

The pop-up message will continue to appear until the new version is accepted, after which time it will no longer appear.

Viewers can also go into the Network menu and manually check for updates.
