Our catch up and on demand service, Freeview Play is the fast growing connected platform, used by 3 million people and our recently launched mobile app is aiding people find the content they love on the go.
Central to delivering all of this is our technology team who are responsible for building new features and testing new devices before they end up in our viewers’ homes. We’re committed to supporting up and coming talent in the industry and are proud to offer excellent opportunities for people looking to enter the technology and engineering side of the TV industry.
We work with our shareholders and partners BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Arqiva to create entry level roles that are engaging for candidates and expose them to a wide range of TV technologies. These roles are highly collaborative, involving working directly with TV and set-top-box manufacturers as well as both linear and on demand content providers.
Each year we take on a small number of graduates and we work collaborate with our broadcasting partners to ensure our graduates get exposed to as many opportunities as possible. We’re excited to announce that this year’s entry level recruitment is now open and along with ITV, we will be looking for new applicants to join us on our mission.
We spoke with Clive Santamaria, Chief Architect, Technology at ITV, about why he is recommending and referring graduates to join the Digital UK programme. “We are delighted to be partnering with Digital UK on developing and offering roles to graduate and entry level candidates with a passion for media and technology, which is vital to continue to grow the industry. Freeview Play is the UKs largest growing platform and will continue to be a success with exciting careers for technology candidates to support its development.”
