In recent weeks, viewing to news bulletins and current affairs programming has soared as the public looks to keep across the most recent developments in the crisis.

In order to help viewers find the latest information and advice from Government and other leading experts and opinion formers, Freeview has launched a designated ‘Coronavirus’ category to the ‘Explore Freeview Play’ area on smart TVs and set-top boxes. It is also available on the Freeview mobile app on iOS and Android.

The dedicated area features newly commissioned content from the PSBs such as the BBC’s HealthCheck UK Live, Channel 4’s Coronavirus: Can our NHS cope? and Coronavirus: Can you avoid it?, and ITV’s Coronavirus: Q&A, as well as daily news bulletins and current affairs shows.

Freeview Play features over 20,000 hours of on demand content from the PSBs and other commercial broadcasters across drama, entertainment, comedy, factual and kids.
