On 18 September 2023, the Felling relay transmitter will close as a result of demolition. A small number of households who receive their signal directly from the transmitter may lose services once the transmitter closes.
What should I do if I lose services?
If you lose services on or after 18 September, please retune your TV to receive a signal from a different transmitter and restore viewing. To find out more about retuning watch our handy retune videos.
Should an automatic retune not restore your viewing, please try to retune manually. You can find out how to on our “How to do a manual retune” FAQ page.
If an automatic or manual retune does not restore services, you may need to repoint your aerial to a different transmitter such as Pontop Pike, Chatton or Fenham to receive a signal.
What help is available?
The BBC and Freeview have a set up a support scheme” to help affected viewers. We have teamed up with our trusted partners at Getmedigital.com to support eligible households with a visit from one of their approved installers who will repoint their aerial to an alternative transmitter. You can find out more about Getmedigital.com on their website.
Please do not try to climb onto the roof of your home or use ladders to repoint your aerial. We always recommend using a qualified aerial installer, who will have experience of working at heights, and information about transmitters in your area.
During the visit, the installer will try to repoint aerials from eligible households to an alternative transmitter. The support scheme covers the cost of the aerial repointing only. Any other services, work or materials needed or requested from the installer will need to be arranged and paid for by the household to the installer directly and will not be funded by the support scheme.
How do I find out if I am eligible for support?
