Service status

The Freeview service is constantly being updated and improved.  Find out about the latest updates from the headlines on the right hand side of this page.  Here you will see new channels, Freeview Play updates and information about technical updates or events that may cause temporary disruption to viewing.

The TV signals that reach your aerial allowing you to watch the line up of channels in your area are broadcast by a transmitter.  From time to time maintenance is required to keep the transmitter working or improve the service.  If you experience interference with channels or channels go missing one reason may be engineering works in progress.  Check the links below to find out about planned works in your TV region.

Changes are being made to the way some channels are broadcast on Freeview in parts of the UK. Check for changes in your area.

Engineering works

Broadcasters are always working to improve the TV transmission network and this sometimes means that engineering work needs to take place.

Visit the Digital UK website to find out if current engineering work is affecting your service.
