Do I need a TV licence to watch Freeview?

Yes. The annual television licence  is required for television reception by all viewers of broadcast television in the UK.  It must be purchased by anyone who has and uses the appropriate equipment to receive television signals independent of which TV service is used.

Freeview channels can be received at no charge at the point of delivery.
