TV has been more important than ever in 2020. Whether it was an obsession with Connell and Marianne in Normal People or pure disbelief at Tiger King, there’s no doubt that TV has helped us all feel more connected to each other over the past year.

Over a quarter of the UK say that TV has helped them feel less lonely as they grapple with the effects of the pandemic. With last night’s TV fuelling hundreds of zoom calls, WhatsApp groups, and work meetings, we did a bit of research to find out which shows we couldn’t stop talking about.
