Information about adult channels

Posted March 25, 2013 - Other issues

Under the terms of the current Ofcom code, the DTT multiplex licence operators have an obligation to carry licensed TV channels (including adult themed channels which promote premium rate telephone services).

How do I hide adult channels?
If you do not want to access adult channels, you can hide them by changing the parental lock settings on your Freeview box or television. The process for doing this varies from box to box and TV to TV.

For full instructions on how to hide or lock adult themed channels, please check the user manual for your equipment. If you no longer have this document to hand, make a note of the model number and contact the manufacturer for further advice. Find out how to contact the manufacturer of your equipment.

You will need to re-activate the parental settings every time you retune your Freeview box or TV. To check if there’s a retune event that will affect you in the future, please visit our service updates page.
