Madonna, it was Just the Wrong Material, Girl

Posted February 27, 2015 - Blog Posts

Wednesday night’s Brit Awards on ITV saw living musical legend Madonna have the mother of all mishaps. Her horn headed dancer pulled her backwards by her cape down a flight of stairs. It was quite the spectacle. Needless to say he has probably been fired now, or perhaps promoted given the free publicity.

Being the trooper that she is, the material girl hurled herself back up on her feet and gave a tremendous performance.

In celebration/commiseration of Madge, we bring you some of our favourite TV mishap moments.

Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey Water Bottle

Set in a beautiful, quintessentially English world, Downton is a favourite all over the globe. However, the set guy must have forgotten the era he was in and left a water bottle on the mantelpiece during press shots. Forever with a sense of humour, the cast responded in a way to make us proud!

Judy at the NTAs

Richard and Judy have long been the faces of wholesome family entertainment. Well, that was until Judy’s dress came undone whilst presenting and award live at the National Television Awards in 2000. Oh dear.

During the Eastenders live broadcast of ‘who killed Lucy Beale’, we saw the return of Max Branning’s estranged wife Tanya, actress Jo Joyner. Obviously excited to be starring in #EELive she forgot Ian Beale was called Ian and called him by the actor’s name Adam. The hashtag #WhosAdam trended nationwide and was swiftly followed by a Twitter apology.

Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl

At the time, questions over whether it was an accident or deliberate headline grabber were rife in the press. When Channel 5 showed the super bowl half time show, Janet and Justin Trousersnake, gob-smacked viewers with the mother of all wardrobe malfunctions.
