News: New Travel Channel, Film 4 and Film 4+1

Posted August 1, 2013 - Blog Posts

Great news Freeviewers, we have some exciting channel updates for you this month.

Retunes aren’t the favourite part of your day, we know, but this time you get three for the ‘price’ of one. Which is great, as it’s all subscription-free, anyway.

Retune for Film 4 and get Film 4+1 on 27 August

From today (1 August) you will need to retune in order to continue to access movies on Film 4. Don’t worry, the channel isn’t moving house so you’ll still be able to watch some of the best movies around on channel 15. Once you’ve retuned, you can go back to life (or at least TV) as normal.

The first bonus is that this means that Film 4 is now more widely available across the country. Hurray!

The second bonus is that when Film 4+1 launches later this month (27 August to be exact) you won’t need to do anything at all. How good is that? Everyone loves a +1 channel because it’s essentially a second chance – and who doesn’t like a second chance?

But that’s not all…

Travel Channel

Today we give a warm Freeview welcome to the newest member of the family as Travel Channel launches on channel 42. Here’s how they describe themselves:

“Travel Channel is the world’s leading travel-themed entertainment channel. Our shows inspire, inform and entertain and tap into the human desire to experience new things, explore new places and engage with fascinating people and cultures.”

We showcase the world’s most exciting and interesting destinations and celebrate the journey it takes to reach them.”
