From Call the Midwife to Doctor Who, there’s so much amazing telly over the festive period. If you’re a Freeview Play viewer, this is a great chance to explore our easy-to-use (and nifty!) features, which make sure festive favourites are only a few clicks away.
So, to help you indulge to the fullest, here’s our handy guide to making the most of Freeview Play TV this Christmas.
Freeview Play TV guide
Freeview Play’s TV guide allows viewers to watch live TV and on-demand all in the one place. With ease, you can go from enjoying live television to catching up on shows from the last seven days, accessing favourites such as BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5, and UKTV Play, as well as our brand-new services, CBS Catch-up Channels UK and Horror Bites. That’s over 10,000 TV shows at no monthly cost!
Plus, if your Christmas shopping has taken longer than expected and you’re halfway into your favourite show, you can simply click the ‘Watch from Start’ button. Phew!
Freeview Play Channel 100
To make things even easier, Freeview Play has also brought together shows from all the main providers on Channel 100*.
There’s also some Freeview wisdom included. For example, if you can’t decide on what to watch, head over to our top picks recommendations category, eight genre recommendations, or our showcase section, which highlights TV shows based on special themes – this week we are celebrating the best of Dave – with episodes of Taskmaster, Zapped, Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, and many more.
And, for those that know what they want but can’t quite seem to find it, the extensive search functionality allows you to easily search through all the content providers. However, it’s so good it’ll find every episode of the show you’re looking for, including repeats, so best double check the description if you’re looking for the latest episode.
There’s also a helpful ‘Help & Alerts’ section, which provides updates on channel changes, as well as details on how to get in touch with us.
Freeview Play button
Some viewers will also notice that they have a Freeview Play button on their remote – which will take you straight to our on demand content.
* Some TVs may need to be updated to access Freeview Play channel 100. LG TV’s will be updated to include the CBS Catch-up Channels UK and Horror Bites apps next year.
