Possibly the best thing David Hasselhoff has done since Piranha 3DD, Hoff the Record is a semi-improvised comedy which follows him (or rather, a fictional version of himself) as he tries to revive his career. Filled with genuinely hilarious moments and lines such as “He’s so brown and shiny, he’s like a magic conker”, you just won’t want to miss this.

It won’t take long before this fascinating show will have you dropping phrases like ‘geomagnetic energy’ and ‘electronic voice phenomena’ into conversations.
Top of the Lake Season 2
Thursday July 28, 7pm
Taking up the story from series one’s explosive conclusion, series two of Top of the Lake sees Detective Robin Griffin (Elisabeth Moss) relocating from New Zealand’s South Island to Sydney. And she’s plunged straight into investigating a body in a suitcase that’s washed up on Bondi Beach. The trail takes her to a brothel where, with the show’s hallmark weirdness taking centre stage, Robin encounters Mary, the daughter she was forced to give up.
The quirky characters in this show really bring writer/director Jane Campion’s terrific story to life. Nicole Kidman plays a blinder as Mary’s mother, and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie takes on a comical role as Robin’s junior officer.
